The Right to Kill in the Name of God

This information is documented in the 'JOURNAL of DISCOURSES'.  I will put page and volume number behind it and break it down as follows.

When People are Raised to Believe

I- KILLING people who don't agree with you is a GOOD thing.

2-KILLING people who want to leave the religion will "SAVE THEIR SOULS"

3- Blacks are CURSED and meant to be slaves.

4- Women are CURSED and meant to BELONG TO ( be the property of ) men.

5- Blind obedience is necessary. ( no thinking allowed).

WHY is society SURPRISED when they find so many of these people who CARRY OUT THEIR BELIEFS?

Journal of Discourses  Vol. 4   pages 219-220     (allegedly a quote from Brigham Young early LDS church prophet, but who really knows?)

“Now take a person in this congregation who has knowledge with regard to being saved in the kingdom of our God and Father and being exalted, the beauty and Excellency of the eternities before him compared with the vain and foolish things of this world, and suppose that he is over taken in a gross fault, that he has committed a sin that he knows will deprive him of that exaltation which he desires and that he cannot attain to it without the SHEDDING OF HIS BLOOD, and he also knows that by having HIS BLOOD SHED he will ATONE FOR THAT SIN, and will be SAVED and EXALTED with the Gods. Is there a man or woman in this house but what would say? “SHED MY BLOOD that I may be SAVED and EXALTED with the Gods.

All mankind love themselves, and let these principals be known by an individual, and he would be GLAD to have HIS BLOOD SHED. That would be loving themselves, even unto eternal exaltation. Will you love your brothers and sisters like wise?, when they have committed a sin that cannot be atoned for without the SHEDDING OF THEIR BLOOD? WILL YOU LOVE THAT MAN OR WOMAN ENOUGH TO SHED THEIR BLOOD?

I COULD REFER YOU TO PLENTY OF INSTANCES WHERE MEN HAVE BEEN RIGHTEOUSLY SLAIN, IN ORDER TO ATONE FOR THEIR SINS. I have seen scores and hundreds of people whom would have been a chance ( in the last resurrection there will be) if their lives HAD BEEN TAKEN AND THEIR BLOOD SPILLED on the ground as a smoking incense to the Almighty, but who are now angels to the Devil……..I have known a great many men who LEFT THIS CHURCH for whom there is no chance whatever for exaltation, but if their BLOOD HAD BEEN SPILLED, IT WOULD HAVE BEEN BETTER FOR THEM, The wicked and the IGNORANT of the nations for bids this principal’s being in FULL FORCE, but THE TIME WILL COME WHEN THE LAWS OF GOD WILL BE IN FULL FORCE.

THIS IS LOVING YOUR NEIGHBOR AS YOUR SELF; if he needs your help, help him, and if he wants salvation and it is NECESSARY TO SPILL HIS BLOOD on the earth in order that he may be saved, SPILL IT. Any of you who understand the principals of eternity, if you have sinned REQUIRING THE SHEDDING OF BLOOD, except the sin unto death, would not be satisfied nor rest until your BLOOD SHOULD BE SPILLED that you might gain the salvation you desire. THAT IS THE WAY TO LOVE MANKIND.”

We were raised on this quote and many more like it. We were told this is Brigham Young, speaking in the Mormon tabernacle in Salt Lake City.

Blood atonement, adultery and other conditions demand depravity. Suggestions for depravity:

Vol. 4   page 49:
I say that there are men and women that I would advise to go to the president ( of the group ) immediately , and ask him to appoint a committee to attend to their case; and then let a  place be selected, and let that committee SHED THEIR BLOOD.”

Vol. 4   page 51:
Brethren and sisters, I want you to repent and forsake your sins. And you who have committed sins that cannot be forgiven through baptism, LET YOUR BLOOD BE SHED, and let the smoke ascend, that the incense thereof may come up before God as an atonement for your sins, and that the sinners in Zion may be afraid.”

Volume 1  page 108:
“If you want to know what to do with a thief that you may find stealing, I say KILL HIM on the spot and never suffer him to commit another iniquity."
